The parc nature La Gabelle was once used as a trading post for the Amerindians and the French. It is in this park that they came to exchange furs against tools that were useful to them for their daily chores. Nowadays, the park draws many fishing enthusiasts, since fishers have a privileged access to the Saint-Maurice River.

An impressive network of walking paths can also be used by cross-country skiing enthusiasts in winter.
