The Manoir de Tonnancour was built between 1723 and 1725 and was then divided into two parts: the residence and the store. In 1784, a fire destroyed the first floor and the attic, but the manor was soon rebuilt in 1796. Since then, many transformations were done to the manor, like the addition of a storey made of completely and the change of the old roof for a mansard roof. Today, visitors can see many objects from that epoch, especially the book collection (1,500), one of the largest for the time.
The Galerie d'art du Parc, for its part, is located in this beautiful manor. Each year, it presents dozens of regional, national and international exhibitions. The gallery was founded in 1972, but moved into the manor only in 1981. People from everywhere in the world come to see works of visual arts like paintings, drawings, watercolours, photography and sculptures to name but a few. You can also go on a guided visit of the gallery or participate in the numerous cultural activities as well as animation and art initiation workshops.
